‘Rollover Romeo’ lotto winner may lose half his £22m fortune in divorce

A lotto winner dubbed the "Rollover Romeo" faces losing half his £22m fortune to his estranged wife, reports say.

Karl Crompton won £11m aged 23 in 1996 and has doubled it with clever investments.

He was dubbed Britain's most eligible bachelor before marrying his childhood sweetheart Nicole without a pre-nup in 2006.

But the NHS nurse was reportedly seen without her wedding ring last week, Mail Online reports.

Pals claimed he has been left "heartbroken" after she has moved out of their £2million home in Fylde, Lancashire.

And as they did not sign a pre-nup Nicole, who has two children with Karl, 47, could claim a share of his wealth if they divorce.

Pals claim to have heard that the couple are divorcing, with Nicole expected to receive half his fortune, the Sun reports.

One told the newspaper: "We’re all a bit worried about Karl. He seems heartbroken."

Friends fear Nicole has left because ex-Comet manager Karl has stopped his extravagant spending after splashing out on holidays and cars in the year after his win, the Sun reports.

Karl was living with his parents in their three-bedroom home five miles from Blackpool when his numbers came up in May 1996.

In the year following his win, the former £100-a-week Comet trainee blew £3.5million of his jackpot on luxury cars including Porsches and Ferraris and fancy holidays.

Despite blowing £3.5million on cars and holidays, he managed to invest wisely and doubled his money.

The former manager started a relationship with Nicole around a year after his lottery win.

The couple moved into their £2million home with their son Ethan in 2001 and also bought eight properties in the area.
