Horrifying CCTV shows Carlos Racitalal stabbing 77-year-old man in the street
A disturbing video shows how Leicester attacker Carlos Racitalal launched a savage daytime knife attack on an elderly man in the street.
The 77-year-old victim, who was recovering from a stoke, had just bought a bar of chocolate at a local store and was walking home when the 33-year-old would-be killer slashed him with a blade.
In the clip, as Racitalal approaches and passes the victim on the pavement in Dean Road, Belgrave, Racitalal lashes out at his neck with a large kitchen knife.
He then followed up the onslaught from behind, plunging the knife into the back of the pensioner's head five more time in rapid succession, before making off, on Thursday, January 16, Leicester Mercury reports.
The shocked victim, who put his hands up to protect himself, is clearly in pain and looks back in bewilderment
Racitalal then walks back towards him and slashes his defenceless victim for a second time.
The victim's wounds bled profusely, resulting in several weeks in hospital and at least two blood transfusions.
He received multiple stitches to wounds on his hand, neck, and head.

One of his regular day carers drove by shortly after the attack and on seeing him soaked in blood, helped him home, and summoned help.
More footage also shown during Racitalal's trial at Leicester Crown Court, included images of him fleeing armed with a knife.
The defendant, formerly of Finsbury Road, Belgrave, was convicted by a jury of attempting to murder the pensioner, as well as a 10-year-old boy and a mother in her 30s – who were also randomly stabbed – as well as a five-year-old girl in a hit-and-run car crash, with all crimes committed in January.
The 10-year-old boy had been in the street saving a parking space for his mum when he was attacked by Racitalal.
He described being grabbed by a man who then attacked him before running off.
The boy suffered a slash wound to his neck and was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery.
He was discharged from the hospital two days later.
Carlos Racitalal is awaiting sentence.
