Drug dealer ploughs into man on Zebra crossing while ‘evading police at 80mph’
A driver being chased by police and reaching speeds of 80mph in a 30mph-zone was caught on CCTV smashing into a pedestrian as he stepped on a zebra crossing.
Hit-and-run driver Nahome Rezene, 23, went on to crash into a second vehicle and a London bus, causing two more injuries, before he fled the scene in Uxbridge, London, on foot.
In the harrowing CCTV footage, which the victim agreed to be released, Rezene drives at reckless speeds and on the wrong side of the road.
A camera from a zebra crossing then shows the victim stepping into the road, before noticing the blue Mercedes moments before impact.
He raises up his arm in an effort to shield himself and the footage cuts.
The victim mowed down on the zebra crossing, who was left with life-changing injuries, has now agreed for the footage to be released to the public, according to a statement by the Metropolitan Police on October 30.
Rezene pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of a class B drug as well as other driving offences.
