Brave mum fights off ‘dirty little man’ after he tries to snatch her baby’s pram

A mum says she bravely fought off a “dirty little man” as he tried to snatch her pram during a terrifying ordeal.

She claims she managed to defend her baby by threatening to stab him with her insulin.

The woman is now urging other parents to be vigilant after the worrying incident outside a Morrisons supermarket, StokeonTrentLive reports.

She said after she fended him off the “scummy man” walked into the store in Milehouse, Staffordshire at 8pm last Wednesday.

Police have been alerted to what happened and are “looking into it”.

In a Facebook post, the unnamed mum said: "Watch out by Milehouse Morrisons people.

“Some dirty little man tried to snatch my pram off me but I defended my baby and threatened to stab him with my insulin if he didn't get his dirty hands off.

"The police have been informed and he went into the store so he will be on CCTV scummy man.”

No description has been released yet of the man.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were notified of an attempted pram snatch by Morrisons, on Lower Milehouse Lane.

“Local officers are looking into it."

It comes after claims a “baby snatch gang” tried to rip a little girl from a pram while on a shopping trip to TK Maxx in Crewe, Cheshire last month.

Cheshire Police last week said they had not been able to find any evidence but they would investigate further if they received any new information.

But Detective Constable Simon Knowles said: “I understand incidents of this nature will be concerning to local residents and I want to reiterate that we take any allegations of this nature extremely seriously.

"Should any new information come to light we would always follow this up and take action if appropriate."
